Installing FCmobilelife on your Windows Mobile Device
These instructions will step you through the installation of FCmobilelife on your Windows Mobile device.
Before you Install FCmobilelife on Your Windows Mobile Phone Device
FCmobilelife Software Prerequesites
Most recent phones are compatible with FCmobilelife and don't require software updates prior to installing FCmobilelife. Some older model phones may need updating. If you have an older model phone that is experiencing problems installing or running FCmobilelife, verify that the phone has the following software installed (or any later versions of it):
Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP1*
Microsoft Corp. Extended DST Update
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition

Setting the Correct Time Zone on your Windows Mobile Phone Device
You will need to ensure that your Windows Mobile Phone device is configured in the correct time zone before installation of FCmobilelife. To do this from the Home Screen on your Windows Mobile Phone device:
- Select Start -> Settings.
- On a Windows Mobile phone select the System tab
- Select the Clock & Alarms application
- In the time zone box, select the down arrow to display time zone choices.
- Use the scroll bar to find your time zone and select it.
- Select OK to confirm the change.
Setting up Alerts for your Windows Mobile Phone Device
To configure Alerts:
- As a Windows Mobile Client user, you will probably want to select alerts that are sent directly to your Windows phone. You may also want to receive email alerts on your PC.
- Login to

- From the Menu Bar at the top of the browser screen choose My Account -> Update Alert Preferences
Installing FCmobilelife on Your Windows Mobile Phone Device
You can install FCmobilelife on your Windows Mobile Phone Device in one of two ways:
- Install with a Windows Mobile Phone connected to a Windows PC
- Install with a Windows Mobile Phone not connected to a Windows PC
Install with a Windows Mobile Phone Connected to a Windows PC
Mobile Device Sync Software
You will need Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 or later (for Windows XP or earlier) or Windows Mobile Device Center 6 or later (for Windows Vista) on your PC. You can check if one of these is installed on your Windows PC by clicking Start -> All Programs and searching for ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center. If not installed, they can be downloaded from

To install FCmobilelife on a Windows Mobile device that is connected to a Windows PC do the following:
- Connect your Windows Mobile Device to your PC using a USB cable
- You should see the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center application
- Open it on your PC and connect to your Windows Mobile Device
- Open a browser window on your PC and download and run

- Follow the prompts in the FCmobilelife Setup Wizard to complete the installation.
- Once the installation is complete you can run FCmobilelife as follows:
- Select Start -> Programs
- Select the FCmobilelife icon

Installation for Windows Mobile Users Who Do Not Connect to a PC
To install FCmobilelife on a Windows Mobile device that is not connected to a Windows PC do the following:
- Select Start -> Programs
- Select Internet Explorer
- Enter the URL
http://fcmobilelife.com/WM.CAB
and then
- Select Yes to download the MI4.CAB
- Select ok when the installation is complete
- Exit from Internet Explorer
- Select Start -> Programs
- Select the FCmobilelife icon

NOTE: Once installed, the FCmobilelife application will automatically update itself as new updates become available.
Removing FCmobilelife from your Windows Mobile Device
To remove the FCmobilelife application from your Windows Mobile device do the following:
- Select Start -> Settings
- Select the System tab
- Select Remove Programs
- In the list of installed programs, select FranklinCovey FCmobilelife
- Select Remove
A warning message will appear to ask if you really want to remove the program.
- Select Yes
NOTE: Removal of the FCmobilelife application from your device does not remove all application data. If you want to remove all application data as well, then do the following:
- Select Start -> Programs -> File Explorer
- From within File Explorer select the pull down menu in the top left of the window and choose My Device -> Program Files -> Mobile
- Select and hold the stylus against all files that you want to delete and select Delete from the popup menu.
